Korean rice balls

Ingredients:                                           

  • 1 cup of short-grain rice
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

What to do

  1. Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring the rice, water, and salt to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 18 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork, then transfer it to a large bowl.
  6. Wet your hands and form the rice into small balls.
  7. Serve with your favorite Korean sides.
