 Chicken teriyaki

Chicken teriyaki is a delicious, easy-to-make Japanese dish. The word "teriyaki" refers to the cooking method, in which the food is grilled or broiled with a sweet and savory sauce. Chicken teriyaki is usually made with chicken breasts, but you can also use chicken thighs or chicken wings.

 Ingredients                                 

  • Chicken breasts (or thighs/wings)
  • Soy sauce
  • Mirin (a type of rice wine)
  • Sugar
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Green onions
 What to do

  1. Marinate the chicken: Combine the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, ginger, and green onions in a bowl or zip-top bag. Add the chicken and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the grill or heat a heavy skillet on the stove over medium-high heat.
  3. grill or cook the chicken: Grill or cook the chicken for 5 to 7 minutes per side, until cooked through. Baste with the marinade during cooking, if desired.
  4. Serve: Serve the chicken teriyaki with rice and steamed vegetables.
