Nashville hot chicken sandwich
Nashville hot chicken is a dish that is becoming increasingly
popular. It is a chicken sandwich that is fried and then coated with a spicy
sauce. The sauce is usually made with cayenne pepper, and it can be quite

Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast, cut into strips.
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 1 cup of flour
- 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of vegetable oil
To make the sauce, you will need:
- 1/2 cup of cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of paprika
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
What to do
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, chicken strips, and 1 tablespoon of the cayenne pepper. Let the chicken strips marinate in the buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip the chicken strips in the flour mixture, making sure each strip is evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken strips in the vegetable oil until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 4 minutes per side.
- To make the sauce, combine the cayenne pepper, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small saucepan.
- Cook the sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it is thick and bubbly.
- To assemble the sandwiches, place a chicken strip on a hamburger bun and top with the sauce. Serve immediately.
